happy (w)hol(y)days
however, it is that you celebrate, hibernate, commune, or connect: I fervently wish for your ease. that you love and feel loved. that you live right in the center of this circle of circles of peoples of the 4 colors and 4 directions that spiral out into a vast array of places from which we come and call home, languages we speak, heritages we carry forth, cultures we are shaped and healed by, ways of celebrating, knowing and being.
to express this wish visually, I carefully considered the number of languages (10,) choose fonts that could express them, colors that gathered us together, words and an image that I know is incomplete but rests in that most adult of places we must strive to find ourselves in order to hold our great and vast collective humanity at heart. I like to call this living “insufficiently enough.” rather than be paralyzed by the fact that I can never truly name all the names and include all the voices, I choose to vision the boundless abundance our ceaseless interconnectedness gives us access to.
our year-end campaign kicks off today, and unlike past ones that have been designed to reach far, we are now training our attention on deepening and growing our circle of support from within. I’ve been heard saying many times that “scale is the HOLY grail.” with the 12 Days of Liberation campaign, we are inviting a return to the ancient practice of tithing to help scale the now tested and proven 5-pillar Framework for Liberation we’ve been sharing in many permutations.
I hope you’ll feel truly moved — whether today, year-end, or day 12 — to step into our great circle and set aside something that represents your commitment to Liberation.
may we all know ourselves as one tiny insignificant, utterly essential, perfectly imperfect, insufficiently enough aspect of the whole that rises and falls to breathe us into being together, again and again?
